Caio Cezar is the son and grandson of photographers. He started in the profession at 16, as a laboratory worker, developing black and white films. Graduated in photography at Univali, he worked for 12 years as a photo reporter for the newspapers “A Notícia” and “Diário Catarinense”. In 2005 he started working as a freelancer for clients such as Editora Globo, Revista Trip, UOL and Folha de São Paulo. Eight-time winner of the Florianópolis Photographic Marathon, Caio is currently also developing photographic series in the areas that most interest him: street photography, portraits and abstract photography.

In 2013, Caio had a photo published in the book “A Day In The World”, published by the Aday foundation, in Sweden, with a preface by Desmond Tutu and a thousand photographs selected from more than 2 million images sent from five continents. In 2013 Caio was invited to participate in the exhibition “Brazilian Contemporary Photography: Images, Traces and Noises" with the panel “Banana 45”, which documented the process of ripening and rotting of a bunch of bananas. Since 2014 he has been teaching Photo Editing, Studio Lighting and Portrait Fundamentals in free courses and workshops in Florianópolis.
