Paraibana, born in 1983, the culture of the Northeast, the colors, the folklore and the beautiful landscapes have always been a source of inspiration for my work. Since I was a child, I have been enchanted by the shapes that I can imagine appearing on a blank sheet of paper. Contours, colors, overlays immerse me in a universe of creation that expresses all the feelings within me. During my childhood I used to spend hours with paper and pencil, drawing personal objects, portraying family members without them noticing. The female forms were my favorite. I grew up and developed artistic pleasure through painting on canvas, portraying friends and my three children, portraits that resulted in my first solo exhibition, in 2012. After this phase, the search for greater freedom and courage for my work made me dive into the creation of my neo-expressionist Madonnas. The refined, contorted, and at the same time sensual and elegant lines, vibrant colors and moving looks, are the striking characteristics of my work. The titles of the works also suggest what type of sensations arose at the time of creation: desires, reactions and even suffering. Ultimately, a work of expression and freedom.
