Rosilene Fontes' photography takes the observer to enter, in a poetic way, through the lens of a kaleidoscope. From an architectural perspective, the Brazilian artist establishes visual universes from paintings, drawings, collages and photographs.
Rosilene Fontes' compositions are characterized by containing elements that refer to her childhood memories (such as her colorful balloons), as well as by bringing together similar elements in terms of texture and impact. For example, iconic tiles from European capitals such as Paris, Lisbon and Amsterdam are deconstructed and reconstructed in a colorful, mirrored and, articulately, fluid composition. Through the repetition of such patterns and textures, the artist gives life to new “spaces of fables”, provoking new readings about the world.
Among the collective exhibitions by Rosilene Fontes, partner of the collective Hermes Artes Visuais, the highlights are those from the Ribeirão Preto Art Museum program (2011, 2012 and 2014), the exhibition “Aluga-se Ville”, at the Central Galeria, in São Paulo (2012) and the exhibition “The dirty and the bad from São Paulo to Svendborg”, in Denmark (2011).
