Valdemir Cunha

Valdemir Cunha

Valdemir Cunha worked in the publishing market for 20 years, working for publishers Azul, Abril and Peixes, where he was photography editor and executive editor, traveling to more than 80 countries producing reports for magazines.

As a documentary photographer, he traveled throughout Brazil, especially the most isolated areas of the country, to make an inventory of Brazilian human geography. His main book, Brasil Invisível, dealt with the formation of the Brazilian people and was sold out in less than a year.
Until 2020, all of the photographer's production was focused on publishing magazines and some personal work. From then on, he created his own publishing house, Origens, to publish his books. Today there are already 14 titles, 5 of which are already sold out.

From 2016 onwards, he began producing photobooks with limited print runs, turning to the art market, reinforcing his work as a documentary filmmaker to take a more conceptual look at his work theme.
