Karin Folie

Karin Folie is an artist passionate about life, nature and the colors of Brazil. She is inspired by the elements of flora and fauna present in her daily life to create unique works of art. Despite having worked for 20 years in the automotive market, Karin has always had an artistic or craft activity in parallel. It was in 2014 that he discovered his passion for painting and has dedicated himself to this form of expression ever since. Karin uses simple materials such as charcoal, graphite, acrylic paint and spray paint to create her works. She follows the creative process that preaches the theory of the "U" curve, where at the top everything seems beautiful and clear, but as the work develops, it becomes confusing until it reaches the lowest part of the curve, where the artist thinks that the work is horrible. According to Karin, it is essential to continue work at this critical point to obtain a good and unique result.

In the studio in her home overlooking a flamboyant leafy landscape, Karin spends hours and days creating her paintings that are made up of layers of color that emerge one by one, like a patchwork quilt. For her, painting is the best way to express her taste for colors and their magical mixtures, for the soft, strong, present, inconstant and surprising expression of human expression. She seeks to subtly access the essence of those who observe her paintings so that they can discover and invent unique forms. With her works, Karin conveys emotion and feelings that go beyond words.
